A lot has happened! Need to get you caught up!

So very much has happened since the last post here. To start with, we built a Chicken Coop, and now have three chicks(one of which has surprised us in being a rooster!) Oh, well...we will breed him until we have as many hens as we would like, then he'll be up for sale! He doesn't like me very much at all!

Charlie our buy guy with the chicks, he loves them!

The chicks sunning! The actually lay out in the sun like this!

Then for BIGGER news! We are expecting!
Our little one will be here in October and we are so excited! We are having the gender reveal party next Friday and cant wait to share with everyone..we have been on pins and needles trying to keep it a secret!:)
A week over 5 months, I am at 21 weeks and feeling the baby kick so very much...moving around in there like crazy! I cant wait till it gets bigger so the hubs can feel it...the baby is stubborn like him I guess because when he tries to feel it, it stops! ha!

The photo above was taken at 12wks...around the time we told everyone. We chose to tell our family by placing small ultrasound images in Easter eggs and handed them out when visiting everyone over the Easter holiday!

Much more to update, and I'll be posting pics along the way of the pregnancy and the nursery!

The SIL's Closet Dresser.....

One of my sister-in-laws has wanted her dresser in her bedroom closet painted. She doesn't share a closet with her husband so I mentioned that we should do something fun and feminine just because she CAN!

Any of these choices would be super cute! Image from Google

Well, to make things even more fun...I am painting this piece for her and she has NO idea what color I am painting it!! Yay! Fun surprise! Then when all completed we are setting out to buy all new hardware knobs(AKA-furniture Jewelry!)

BEFORE PICTURES

So I have all the supplies and I am prepping and ready to get started and then my husband drops a big bombshell on my plans! He says that I CANT use my NEW paint sprayer that he purchased for me without creating a "Painting Booth"! Ahhh!  Non-the-less, now I have to set up a paint booth! With proper gear, respirator and the whole nine yards! Which means I will be looking like a space alien when painting furniture from now on! HA!

I googled DIY paint booths and this is an option above!

Oh and by the way...I asked for this sprayer as a Valentine's present(I know your thinking...what woman ask for this for Valentines Day? ME that's WHO!! ;) And I love him for getting it for me because he knows how much more I will enjoy it rather than flowers that will die in a week, and chocolate that will only make my waistline bigger! So yay for early V-Day presents!

Three Little Hens

Yes, I am the proud owner of three baby hens! Wait, hold up! These aren't your average chicks! They are Silkies..look them up they are super cute and I cant wait to see them all fluffed out like the ones you can google to see as adults(shown above from google).
And bonus, the eggs should be here maybe by
August...if you've never had a fresh egg (not from the grocery store) you don't know what your missing, there is a difference! Trust me!

I cant wait to show you the photos of them as they grow and the whole process of what is to be the Knowles Coop! I cant wait!
(I may sound crazy over some chickens, but already they are eating from our hands and take regular naps in our laps and have become part of the family already!)
Mom mom thinks I have a special powers I think, because she grew up with chickens all her life and has never seen them react like they have to us in just a short time.

Put a "CROWN" on it!!

I have been contacted to do another wall mural! This time for a teen girls bedroom...remember..I do boys things too!! and have lots of great paints to make it extra special and different!

I will be doing this in the next few weeks. The young teen wants a CROWN over her bed, yes, full on princess in the making;) whats not to love? and its going to be big, think 4'x5' big.

She wants it simplistic and then maybe add her own touch to it(which I think is great) by adding some big faux jewels to it in some areas. Or these may be painted on, whichever she chooses.

Below is the sketch I did for her, and her which is standard and I always do this with my Kreations clients so that they are seeing a close depiction of what they are going to get as the outcome.
Her walls are currently orange and she wants the crown in gray(same as her bathroom). I'm going to paint the base the gray and then do a wash of glaze over it to make it shine, and then add the white and black highlights! Cant wait to show you the finished product!

Looking forward to showing you the after! Let me know if you would like to have a special wall treatment, piece of furniture, or art done for your home or as a gift! I do GIFT CERTIFICATES too!
Great for Valentines Day and its the "not so typical roses and candy...which I never want!(and the hubby knows this, that's why I get good things like a Kitchen Aid mixer last year!!!:) But what woman wouldn't want something revamped in her house? Exactly, perfect gift!;)

Yep! He's 30!!

This is the post I have been waiting to do because I am glad all the hard work and effort is over and we can reflect on how fun my husbands 30th Birthday was!

Yes, my husband and his twin brother turned 30! this January. Let me tell you! they don't act 30 in mind, body or spirit....I hope they always stay young at heart! ;)

Over the past few months myself and my sis-in-law have been busy planning and getting everything coordinated! It was a hard feat to attempt to keep it a SECRET but we succeeded! And boy they sure know they are loved..or at least they should by now!

We usually plan their birthdays low key with all their close friends, but this year we wanted to be able to take a break from the preparations of food and such and find a place fitting for their 30th Birthday!

We decided on a "THIRSTY" theme, this meant we needed a place! Some times and most times this is the hardest, but luckily I stumbled across a place I see at least 2 times a week.
The place was Gordon Biersch in Midtown. Fun place!

We then decided on a menu, set that up and basically after that we were set! This way everyone could order and the tab would be on us! Much easier than cooking for this big crowd!

Oh, cant forget the cake! (my husbands favorite part, he loves birthday cake) I am pretty specific and a little OCD when it comes to party planning, and very detail oriented in general so I guess its fitting that I wanted the cake to be perfect! And sure enough it was exactly how I had envisioned it!

Then next was transportation, we wanted to have everyone that wanted to ride in the LIMO come with us. It just so happens, the day before we were upgraded because of a cancellation...woohoo!

I had the idea to do a "Photo Booth" from Pinterest of course! I knew it would be hysterical to do it, and hoped everyone would partake in the fun! Weeks before I started preparing all the props, i.e. sunglasses, hats, signs, etc. This turned out to be a great idea and the photos are so funny, and I know everyone had a good time because it shows all in the photos!

Trust me, this is just a very small portion of all the people and photos I have of this booth! I ended up with over 300! and they keep me laughing even after Ive seen them more than once!

Everyone who came either has known Keith and Kraig all their lives, worked with them, childhood friends, family, or friends by way of other friends. It was so touching to see all the people that somehow have influenced them and have been a part of their lives and took the time to come and celebrate their birthday! I was very touched, and the guys were overwhelmed with how many came out to celebrate! It was a GREAT time! I know they enjoyed themselves and I hope everyone that made it had a blast as well.

(They also had sparklers that spelled out 3-0 on the cake but they put them out because they thought they were trick candles)! Bummer! lol

Here's to many, many more Birthdays! I love you babe!

Kick off to 2012!

2011 has been a trying year for me. With work, and getting my mind and body back from what was a very trying experience, my mom going through medical issues.....and the list continues.

But I do want to say that 2012 will bring great promise and lots of relief to what we have endured this past year, we are only stronger because of the things that have been put in front of us and we will adapt and overcome I just know it!

Here's to a great, promising and prosperous New Year!
Make the best of it!

Last Year 2010..and this was around 7:00 in the morning!! She may kill me for this picture! but I love it!

And by the way, if you are a mall shopper, and dont have one of the carts you see with her in the photo......you are crazy!! We have learned over the years that this is a necessity! and it keeps you from lugging everything around and making multiple trips to the car!
(just to tell the people that see you leaving the mall and filling you car trunk that you actually arent leaving and your going back in!)
That always gets a laugh!

Feeling a little.....

Today, I am yet again feeling under the weather....a sore throat is creeping in and I cant shake it. I hate when I'm getting sickly because it means I have to SIT still and REST! This is hard for me because I am such a busy-body. Hopefully I can shake it because I have a very good friend of mine from college getting married this weekend!!

Under The Weather
Vitamin C here we come!
