My green THUMB!

If you remember back when I posted this, then you will remember how much I wanted to get my garden started.  Well, my wedding anniversary was coming up and that's one thing I asked for!...can you believe it?  Yes, as an anniversary gift, I asked for a vegetable garden...my how things have changed as I have gotten older. I remember as a kid when holidays or birthdays rolled around how I would ask for things a lot more expensive, and needless to say useless other than for materialistic reasons.

Now as an adult, I love the presents and gifts that I can enjoy for a long time to come, and that I can enjoy with some one during the entire process.

My husband took me to get all my goodies the weekend of our anniversary, and boy did I rack up! If you think that a garden is an inexpensive gift, your wrong! Its a pricey item, but one that pays off in the end from being able to not really have to purchase any vegetables from the grocery store for the entire summer season through the fall.

If you remember I wanted a "raised" looking vegetable garden. After looking online and researching a little more, these are more permanent places to garden, and don't necessarily do well with all vegetation.

So I decided to use landscaping timbers to get the same effect, at a lower cost. And in the years to come I can move my garden around to any location in our yard because its not a true "raised" planting bed.

The garden still has some filling in and filling out to do, but we are looking at having a great supply of vegetables to be able to eat, pickle and can as well! I'm excited about that because I loooooooovvveee home-made pickles! and having fresh tomatoes for sauces!

And because I cant have tomatoes without basil, I have my herbs planted in pots.
(they do much better in pots than in the the ground in my opinion)

And last but not least as a little extra...Keith and I has set up a Scupernog vine!

Remember Me?.....

Well you should already know the answer..yes, I've painted the RETRO RE-DO
Remember my color schemes? Look here if you don't remember... well I chose to paint it

PINK!!

I have been wanting to paint something pink for a while, and this piece was perfect for this color! I have the original hardware on one of the photos, and I played around with some glass pink/clear knobs to see what it would look like....

My intended use for this was for my closet. It is a shared closet with my husband..and he is a great sport for letting me have a PINK piece of furniture in there.

It is going to hold my bathing suits, and seasonal items in the two lower drawers...but the top drawer is going to contain these little beauties to hold my jewelry.

I have seen people using "egg cartons" for earring holders. I thought this was brilliant and when I stumbled across a ceramic one, I couldn't resist!

Isn't it perfectly girlie? I love it, and such a fun re-do!

Curiouser and curiouser!

This past weekend I had so much fun! Not only was it Memorial Day weekend and I got to have some fun in the sun, I also had to work a couple of hours on Saturday for an
"Alice in Wonderland"
themed birthday party.

I had meet the Cole's at a Springfest Event where I was painting faces and she wanted me to do face painting at her daughters birthday party.

If you aren't already aware, Kreations which is the name I use for my business that includes furniture painting, face painting, and all things fun and creative! The Cole's picked up a business card and the rest is history.

I arrived at 11:30 for the birthday celebration and oh how I was shocked!
This was going to be a huge party for and 8 yr old girl!
She was very lucky to have such a great birthday celebration.
She had a setting for a tea party, a hat making station, and other things such as FACE PAINTING and a magician at her party(with rabbit tricks) non-the less.

Here are some photos from the party, I hope to have more from the family soon..it was hard for me to take pictures in the middle of painting and all.
